Girls' night

I am waiting for my study group at La Salle so I decided to post again...That's two times in one week. Things are better since my last post. The week ended ok and Friday I got out early because of the snow. I was at a New Hire In-Service that was a bit boring and I was glad to end early. I actually met a new friend there. We had classes together at West Chester and we started the same week with the Intermediate Unit (CCIU). It was fun seeing her again. The IU has a teacher center that is amazing and free. I can't wait to use it. Last night we had girls' night. It was very refreshing and nice. I'm glad we still had it because I really needed it. We did miss you though Becca. It's definitely not the same without you. We got into a discussion about Creation and Evolution. It was very interesting. We had the Bible open and were exploring Genesis. I feel like it's a subject I need to know more about. I have done research about it in the past but I should keep up with it. We called my dad and he gave us some good insight. It was fun with the three of us huddled around my cell phone while my dad talked. Before Laura had arrived, I ventured out to buy strawberries in the snow. It took me a long time to get my car out because it had ice packed around the tires. The roads were bad too. Why doesn't PA plow? It's not like it's Georgia and they never have to deal with snow!! It really annoys me because a lot of those accidents could be prevented with better road maintenance. Anyways, stepping off my soap box. Back to girls' night....we talked and watched a movie and went to bed. This morning Lynette cooked her famous eggs and I made my strawberry pancakes. It was yummy. Laura left but soon came back for a shovel. Lynette and I helped her shovel out her car (well I took pictures more than I helped :)). It was fun and very refreshing. Today I am being studious and at La Salle all day. We are studying for our comps and National exams (they are both the same week). I am forcing myself to drive to La Salle every day this weekend because I don't get anything done at home. Well I need to go because my study group is here.

Becca, here are two Lynetteisms:
wump=a cross between a wuss and a wimp
erotic weather=erratic weather (I like this one a lot!!)

Snoring pig, 24, and bad days

So I have nothing really to write. I am just trying to waste time because I am locked out of the office at La Salle. I am supposed to be working, but I finished what I needed to do. The secretary went to lunch and locked the door. I guess it's a good time to catch up on blogs and such because all of my school work is locked in the office as well. Ok so about the snoring pig....Monday night Marc and I watched 24 with his family at one of their parishoners' houses (Amy and Marc's grandmother are house-sitting). They live on a farm and have a big screen TV. They also have a menagerie of animals (inside the house, not in the barn). There were 2 dogs (one is the Yerringtons' little dog, the other a black lab), a cat, and......a POT-BELLY PIG. I was a little intimidated by the pig. It was very cute, but you don't expect to see a pig roaming around the house, making all kinds of grunting noises. So we watched 24 while these animals roamed about. The Black Lab (named Picasso) sat on Marc's lap. Marc kept rubbing Picasso's stomach and head causing him to repeatedly kick me. After Marc found out the dog was kicking me, he persisted in order to annoy me. The cat (Henry) decided to sit in my lap while the dog kept kicking me. Meanwhile the pig fell asleep in the background and was snoring. I never thought I would be watching 24 with so many animals, let alone a snoring pig. It was a lot of fun. Monday was a really good day. Now Tuesday was my bad day. It wasn't even really stressful at work because of the PSSAs. One thing happened and caused my entire day to be ruined. I hate how one little thing can wreck an entire day if you focus on it too much. It wasn't a huge deal but I let it bother me. It was the kind of day where I wanted to go home, crawl into bed, and hide under the covers. However, I couldn't do that because I had to go to La Salle for class. I am pretty good at hiding my feelings when I am at La Salle (and around people who don't know me extremely well) but everyone could tell because I had a lot of people ask me what was wrong. I made it through the rest of class and felt a little better after. It's sad that class was able to cheer me up a bit :). Today I feel better too. It is a nice day and I have a break from my job today. I am working at La Salle but it's really low-key and what I needed today. I also got a decent night of sleep so I actually feel refreshed. Well that's all for now. I will try to be better at keeping up with reading and writing blogs but I can't promise anything :) least until May. I wish I had access to blogger at school so I could keep up with it while I am there. My school has a high security website blocking system that blocks EVERYTHING.

So much for the curse of the cavy

So the cavy is gone but the curse still lives on. I really don't know how much more car drama I can handle. The dust hasn't even settled from my hit and run, and now I am having a new sort of crazy issue. On Monday night (on the way to prayer), I was backing up in our apartment complex and tapped the car behind me...I barely touched it....It was kind of like Spain when they touch each other's bumpers to back into a parking space. Lynette looked to make sure nothing was wrong with the car and we drove off. I honestly forgot about it until I was confronted by a guy in my apartment complex Tuesday evening after work. He said I hit his car and his sister had seen the whole thing (He made it clear that he had a witness). I stared at him blankly because I had no idea what he was talking about. I was really tired and out of it by this point. He took me to his car and showed me the horrific mark I had caused. It was a black scuff mark that was so tiny that it looked like it had been caused by a shoe. He made a point of showing me it wasn't dirt. He acted like a big bully and made me feel bad about it. If I had caused that offensive two inch mark I would definitely pay for it. I told him I would go get my checkbook and write him a check for it. He said it only needed to be buffed off so $50 should cover it. He also told me that he would not accept a check and he would ONLY accept cash. I never have that much cash on me so I said he would have to wait until I got a chance to go to the bank. I preceeded to tell him my name and where I live. He asked me when I got home from work and said he would wait for me so I could give him cash. I asked him where he lived and said I would drop off money in his box. I went inside, feeling very uncomfortable. He seemed like a creepy, sketchy guy who was trying to threaten and intimidate me. After I came to my senses, I realized how stupid I had been. I should never have agreed to pay for it or told him what apartment I live in. The fact that he would only accept cash is really sketchy. Lynette also said that I hit the back bumper and not the front passenger door. I was also reminded that it is impossible for a WHITE car to cause a BLACK mark. So this creepy, sketchy guy was trying to extort money from me to pay for a scuff mark that was probably caused by a shoe. I was really upset about it and stressed out about work and continuous issues with the Cavalier. I came home and had a good cry. Lynette and my dad convinced me that I should talk to someone to protect myself. Lynette and I went to our apartment complex's business office to talk to our leasing agent. She told us that he isn't even on the lease but his sister is. He has no legal right to be staying in that apartment. Lynette and I also know that they are constantly on the balcony smoking, drinking, and having parties (and who knows what else). We were advised to go to the police just to be safe so we did. Lynette found the police station (if you know Lynette that is impressive :)). The police officer said it wasn't a police issue but a civil service issue. If he wants me to pay for it he will have to file a claim with a small claims court. I can just see us on Judge Judy over a little black scuff mark that an evil white car caused. So now I am just worried about the creepy, sketchy guy approaching me and demanding his money. I hope he doesn't go as far as vandalizing my car or our apartment. The police officer said if he tries anything to call them. So here is my little mini-drama that can't even be blamed on the cavy. One thing that has crossed my mind is this: My car gets totaled in a hit and run and the guy goes free......I tap a car while backing up and I am tracked down by a psycho. I guess it just shows that life isn't fair :).
